Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County Board of Directors
Why You’re Needed:
Habitat for Humanity knows that safe, decent and affordable shelter plays a critical role in helping families to create lives filled with possibility and progress. Caught in cycles of unpredictable rent increases, overcrowded conditions, or lack of access to land and affordable housing, many families live with a constant burden of uncertainty, stress and fear. Through Habitat home-ownership program families put in 250-hours of sweat equity per household adult, they will have an affordable mortgage, paying no more than 30% of their income for housing. Our Habitat Partner Families pay property taxes, and Habitat for Humanity International has over 40 years of data to prove that Habitat Partner Families through the permanency of stable home ownership have children that graduate high school, go on to college and more likely to become homeowners themselves, thus breaking the cycle of poverty housing.
